Media Network
The Network is a multi-disciplinary private organization it was established on 20th August 1996. Since its inception the organization has carried out a number of philanthropic non-profit and for-profit projects in the fields of Health, Engineering, Education, and Media in eastern Afghanistan, it is owned by Shafiqullah Shaiq and the organization is headquartered in Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.
Sharq Radio Television which is a part of Shaiq Network is a media organization that consists of one radio and TV.
Sharq Radio which was established in 2003 is known in the eastern region as the very first private Radio station since its inception. Throughout the years the radio had expanded its reach and attracted millions of listeners and has recognition with many international organizations.
Sharq Radio also broadcasts online and daily streams live on Facebook.
Sharq Television was established in 2008 and it is also known as the very first private TV station in the eastern region, the channel broadcasts 24 hours a day and with 10 years of experience Sharq TV produces educational, news, shows, dramas, entertainment programs and it transmits hourly news and current affairs programs as well to the eastern zone. Sharq TV programs are mainly (90%) in the Pashto language. The channel is known for its news broadcasting which airs daily at 6:00 PM. The Channel has a Facebook page and a YouTube channel with daily uploads and a weekly video reach of over 700,000.
Sharq News
Sharq News Team consist of various employees such as journalists, editors, reviewers, news manager, and cameraman that gather news from different provinces of Afghanistan.
The team produces local news, provincial news, national news, and international news.
The gathered various reports are broadcasted on Sharq TV and Sharq Radio at 6:00 PM daily then afterward the reports are uploaded to the Facebook page and YouTube channel for more reach in social media. The News is also repeated at 8:00 PM, 12:00 PM, 03:00 AM, 7:00 AM and
10 AM. Sharq News team is a part of shaiq Network.

Located on 2000 square meters, the network constructed a four-story building in 2006 in Jalalabad city. The building serves as a one-stop shop for all media-related activities and needs of the clients. All operations of the network is conducted in this building.
Nargis Radio
Established on 11th September 2007, is a Radio station run by women for women. It is aimed at production and broadcasting of programs mainly focused at social life of women in Afghan society; the radio promotes awareness about the role of women in the community development. Nargis FM is the only radio station operated by women journalists for women. It is focused on educating women, empowering them, and enabling them to overcome their social problems. It operates on a 600W Transmitter with5000 WT DePaul Antenna installed on 85 meters tall tower; is accessible
on 92.4 MHZ locally and through internet live streaming.
Goals and Objectives:
• Increase the literacy rate of women.
• Highlight the role of women in social development.
• Provide guidance to women on their day-to-day affairs.
• Overcome the challenges faced by women.
• Promote positive Afghan culture and Islamic guidance.
• Serve as a bridge between the government and the people.
Film Production
Established on 20th August 2004. The unit is aimed at increasing the culture of tolerance, and national unity, and fighting negative social customs in Afghanistan. The first production of this unit was a movie entitled ‘black poison’ which was released in 2005; the main purpose of this movie was to institutionalize the culture of anti-terrorism, drug addiction, poppy cultivation, and smuggling. 20,000 cost-free copies were distributed.
Community Development and Welfare
Promoting the culture of sports:
In 2005 the Network organized a cricket tournament for the 22 districts and 10 best teams of Nangarhar province. A number of prizes including a gold cup were awarded to the winning team.
In 2006 a running race (marathon) was organized for a distance of 10 kilometers; three hundred runners participated in the race.
